Ace Point Travel Case Study

Acepoint Travel started in 2002 as a travel agency who specialised in the Middle East and Asian Market. This is a very niche market with around 40,000 customers who were not being served by the traditional travel agencies.

Acepoint Travel has a national business with a call centre and transactional website and around 8,000 customers. This presented a challenge for taking credit card payments as Acepoint Travel wanted to ensure that they weren't being taken for a ride by fraudsters using stolen identities.

Acepoint Travel wanted a quick and easy solution to verify their customers who either called in or transacted via their website. Acepoint Travel initially used 192business as a quick addressing tool to not only save time for call centre staff but confirm that the correct address has been given. If the order is suspicious then more detailed checks will be taken. This could include checking the credit reference header files to confirm the individual's name, address and date of birth.

" Using 192business I feel confident taking payments from credits cards and feel protected against the threat of fraud. The solution means that we can easily check an individual without affecting the customer experience and once checked we have an account set up for them in the future. This simple and straightforward solution means we can easily operate at a national or international level".

The Future...

Currently Acepoint Travel use 192business in the HTML format with a username and login.Future plans will include automating this procedure by integrating 192business solutions via XML into the website. As a business that operates globally, Acepoint Travel will also look in the future to adding international databases from countries such as USA and Germany.
